Los Ninos have a day of service with their Fiesta community outreach

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - It has been a day to take Old Spanish Days to the people who can't get out and see the 2023 Fiesta.

The Los Ninos de las Flores - or Fiesta Children have split up into different groups to visit retirement homes and senior centers with flowers.

They have had stops from Carpinteria to Goleta.

The Friendship Center in Montecito welcomed them at 9:30 this morning with a big "Viva la Fiesta!"

El Presidente David Bolton gave a speech about the history of Fiesta and the meaning to the community as the children presented the flowers and greeted everyone in attendance one on one.

About 40 people were in the gathering. One of the attendees was 99 years old.

Later in the day they were with first responders including police officers and firefighters and then it was off to the steps of Santa Barbara City Hall for a meet and greet with the City Council.
