City seeking entries for Children’s Fiesta Parade in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The City of Santa Barbara is accepting applications for this year's Children's Fiesta Parade.

Organizers said there are currently about 55 entries, but they are hoping to see at least 25 more before the deadline on Friday.

The event is held during the week-long Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebration.

Organizers said each year the parade brings new families and youth groups together, alongside others who have participated in the parade for generations.

The parade regularly features families and youth programs in costumes with decorated floats, strollers and wagons that they've decorated themselves.

Participation is free and open to all families and youth groups of any size.

This year's parade is on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 10:00 a.m. along Cabrillo Blvd.

The parade starts at Garden Street and ends at Calle Puerto Vallarta.
