Seaside Highland Games returns to Ventura

Seaside Highland Games celebrates 22nd festival at Ventura County Fairgrounds

VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) The Seaside Highland Games returned to the Ventura County Fairgrounds for it's 22nd event this weekend.

The Gold Coast Pipe Band hosted bag pipe and drumming competitions.

People also filled arena grandstands to watch heavy athletic events including the caber toss and sheaf toss.

Visitors also had a chance to learn about the different clans.

We love to enjoy the Seaside games and everyone who walks by we say hay because we are the Hay Clan," said Jeana Weatherland.

There are information booths to help people find their clans.

A purple ten nearby welcomed folks to "Clan Inebriated" and sold "We drink well with others" T-shirts.

Visitors also enjoyed all kinds of music in a number of locations including The Ploughboys and a circle of Celtic musicians.

Some people lined up to taste meat pies and other Scottish dishes.

The Seaside Highland Games continues on Sunday from 9 to 5 p.m.
