Los Alamos Community Helps Couple Adopt Twins Due On Grandma’s Date Of Passing

LOS ALAMOS, Calif. (KEYT) - Community members are helping to raise funds for a Los Alamos couple adopting fraternal twins due to arrive in about a month.

The couple believes this is a higher calling, and that the babies’ late grandmother who passed a year ago may have sent the children to them.

A SpotFund page has been established by a friend of the couple, Nick and Cassie Conforti of Los Alamos.

Nick’s mother Lynne was adopted and reunited with siblings in her thirties she never knew she had, including a fraternal twin brother.

Lynne passed away June 4th, 2025 of cancer, after having spent time at home with Nick and Cassie for hospice care.

Nick and Cassie have been unsuccessful at having children biologically and were thinking about adopting when Cassie’s sister got in touch, asking for their help.

She is pregnant with fraternal twins, and they are due on June 4th this year, the same date of Lynne's passing.

In a challenging situation and unable to care for the twins, her sister was considering terminating the pregnancy when something compelled her to call Cassie.

Nick and Cassie will be adopting the twins at birth, and will be raising them as their own.

Cassie says her sister is deeply grateful that the twins will be able to remain in the family.

Anyone is welcome to donate, and their SpotFund page can be found by clicking this link.
