“Lights, Love, and Community” Returns for 3rd annual holiday lighting celebration in Isla Vista

ISLA VISTA, Calif.- Isla Vista Recreation & Park District is bringing back its annual holiday lighting event, “Lights, Love, & Community”, on Friday, Dec. 16th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Estero Park.

This kicks off the week-long lighting of the St. George Youth and Teen Center, Estero Red Barn, Honorary Holiday Tree, Isla Vista Rec & Park District Office, Little Acorn Fence line, and the Anisq’Oyo Park bridge & Pumphouse.

These Isla Vista locations will be lit up through Jan. 3.

Lights, Love, and Community is a multigenerational, family-friendly event hosted by IVRPD and features live music by Mariachi Las Olas, ornament decorating sponsored by the St. George Youth and Teen Center, a gingerbread house design contest sponsored by the Isla Vista Co-op, and a free pizza dinner with vegan and gluten free options provided by Woodstock’s Pizza of Isla Vista.

The goal is to foster a sense of community and provide a space for locals of all ages to get into the holiday spirit.

Admission is free.
