Expecting parents learn tools for improving early childhood

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Expecting parents, grandparents and siblings got a lesson on early childhood development Saturday. The Santa Barbara Public Library hosted a free Community Baby Shower from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
During the Community Baby Shower, soon-to-be parents learned some of the basic ins and outs about becoming first-time parents or adding to their expanding families. Parents also spoke with local community organizations that help with early childhood.
This is the second year the library has hosted the event. If it is successful enough, children's librarian Holly Broman said they may make it a semi-annual event.
For more information about future children's events at the Santa Barbara Library, you can email Broman at hbroman@santabarbaraca.gov or visit the library's website at sbplibrary.org.
