Visitors brave the cold for annual Julefest Parade

JULEFEST PARADE

Despite the wet weather, visitors packed the city of Solvang for the annual Julefest.

Some have been coming to the annual festival for decades.

Sally MacFadyen of Solvang has been coming to for twenty years.

This day is special because it's a family day. Everyone has their child, and their dogs. It's a very friendly town,” MacFadyen said.

Families cheered on as they watched dressed up dogs, ponies with hats, a marching band, and of course, Santa.

Fendly Joseph drove several hours to Solvang for the first time to check it off his bucket list.

“It's something we wanted to check off our bucket list. We wanted to see all the Danish architecture and the Christmas decorations,” Joseph said.

More than 50 organizations cruised down Mission Street, Copenhagen Street and adjacent streets.

If you didn't make it to the Julefest parade, that's okay.

The holiday festivities will continue throughout the month of December.
