SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The volunteer and donation driven Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library bookstore has a new place to call home and it's in the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.

Net proceeds of sales of the donated books that cover all genres and topics go to support the Santa Maria Main Public Library.

The Friends of the Santa Maria Public Library bookstore lost their space in the main library and have since been looking for a new location.

The Santa Maria Town Center Mall location is expected to increase foot traffic during the holiday shopping season as well as public book donations.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned Tuesday afternoon for the first new bookstore in the Town Center Mall in recent years.

The event is co-hosted by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
