One805 donates Seek Thermal FirePRO 300 devices and SmartWool socks to Santa Barbara County firefighters

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – One805 presented donations to Chris Mailes, President of the Fire Chiefs Association of Santa Barbara County during a press conference at Seek Thermal on Monday.

37 Seek Thermal FirePRO 300 devices were donated to Santa Barbara County firefighters.

"It’s just great to be able to use our technology for something that provides safety ... saves lives and it’s just an all around good feeling," said chief technology officer Bill Parrish of Seek Thermal.

These devices help firefighters navigate through low visibility conditions by helping them see hazards invisible to the naked eye.

"And we raised enough money to donate forty brand new state of the art thermal imaging cameras to our local fire departments," said vice president of product and marketing Jeff Karlson of Seek Thermal.

One805 ran a “fundraiser within a fundraiser” at its One805Live! Fall Music Festival in September, earning enough to purchase fourteen Seek Thermal FirePRO 300 devices.

Seek Thermal made a commitment to offer a match.

The company then exceeded its match with an additional nine extra devices to cover each fire station in the county.

"Seek Thermal stepped up and more than doubled what we raised by donating additional pieces of equipment so that every single fire station in Santa Barbara County will now have one of three seek thermal imaging cameras," said COO and cofounder Richard Westin-Smith of One805.

“Efficient operations includes us using thermal imaging cameras to be able to look for civilians, and frankly firefighters," said chief Chris Mailes of Santa Barbara City.

In addition to equipment, 772 pairs of Smartwool socks will be donated.

Smartwool socks are one of the most requested firefighter items.

Each pair will contain One805’s recently re-designed Mental Wellness Program information card.

This will give all Santa Barbara County firefighters access to vital mental health resources.

Organizers of One806 believe the socks are an efficient way of reaching every firefighter in Santa Barbara County while spreading the word about its wellness program.
