Slight cooling ahead, forecast July 30th

Beautiful once again as Summer temperatures stay very hot inland and very mild near to coast. Heat Advisories are once again in play for most inland areas as the sea breeze stays mainly confined to just the immediate coastal plains. The northwesterly sea breeze is just strong enough along the Gaviota to Point Conception coastline where a Wind Advisory is in effect through very early Sunday. Look for overnight lows to be mostly in the 60's with a few inland areas holding in the 70's. Sunday looks like another beach or pool day as the heat advisory level temperatures keep the 90's and 100's going strong. Beaches will see more fog for the morning hours with expected highs in the 60's and 70's. Monsoonal moisture will continue to flirt with Southern and Eastern California. Very slight chances for showers or even thunder can't be ruled out and we will maintain a vigilant watch on our local radars just in case.

Looking ahead, as we head in to early August, we will see a bit of a roller coaster forecast. The large area of high pressure that delivers our warm ups, will drift farther east. As this happens, more ocean influence sneaks in and we see fantastic weather through about mid week. Highs inland will be in the 80's and low 90's, beaches will stay on the mild side with more late night and early morning fog. Monsoon clouds will continue to drift overhead from time to time. This bears close watch, but at this time, we don't see any real big threat for thunder. By the second half of the work week, the high drifts back toward the west and is expected to strengthen. This means that another heat wave is expected by next weekend along with more advisories and warnings for what looks like more triple digit temperatures.
