The heat is here to stay this Thursday
Breezy overnight winds lead to minimal cloud cover and marine layer influence this Thursday morning. Skies will stay clear and a gorgeous sunrise is on tap near the South Central Coast while fog begins to develop north of Point Conception . Some areas along Highway 101 will see patchy to dense fog so keep that in mind as you head out the door this morning. Temperatures for the day will be a tad cooler than yesterday but the Heat Advisory remains in place for most interior areas. Highs will climb into the upper 70s and 80s near the beaches and triple digits inland. Another round of gusty winds is expected near the Gaviota Coast this evening and yet another Wind Advisory will go into effect from 9PM through 3AM Friday.
Friday looks very similar as far as temperatures and cloud pattern. The high pressure system and heat dome we've been tracking these last few weeks is rather stagnant over New Mexico, hence why we are seeing minimal day to day difference. It'll be another mostly sunny and summer like day to start out the weekend.
Temperatures stay consistent throughout the weekend as well. Each day looks to be a carbon copy of the last with the only difference being overnight winds and the marine layer. Next week looks rather toasty as well, some models show high pressure becoming stronger and impacting coastal temperatures more than these last few heat waves. I will be closely monitoring this situation as we approach the weekend.
