Two vehicle collision results in the death of one driver and moderate injuries to a passenger
BUELLTON, Calif. – A two-vehicle collision on northbound Highway 101 resulted in the death of one driver and moderate injuries for the passenger in the other vehicle.
According to Santa Barbara County Fire, emergency responders were nearby monitoring a fire from earlier on Thursday when they were called for a collision between two vehicles, a silver van and a white Toyota truck.

The solo driver of the silver van was declared dead on the scene due to the injuries from the collision detail Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
One of the two occupants of the white Toyota truck, a female passenger, was transported to Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries after a 15-minute removal by emergency personnel. The driver of the truck declined medical treatment.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the incident.
