Santa Barbara County joins California Accountable Communities for Health Initiative

Caring Together Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. — Caring Together Santa Barbara County announced Thursday it's being selected as one of 37 communities by the Califronia Accountable Communities for Health Initiative.

CTSBC says joining the CACHI advances an innovative approach to build community health and the ongoing push for equity.

CACHI is a public-private partnership supported by the California Department of Public Health, the California Endowment, Blue Shield of California Foundation and the California Wellness Foundation.

CTSBC says they will receive $500,000 in funding over a 30-month period to implement a sustainable platform called the Accountable Community for Health, aligning local health and social services.

“We’re proud to have been chosen to implement this innovative approach to improving the health and well-being of our community,” said CEO of Family Service Agency Lisa Brabo. “This funding will help us meet our goal of adopting and incorporating diversity, inclusion, and equity/anti-racism principles throughout all partnership activities.”

A "Memorandum of Understanding" — also known as a non-binding agreement that states each party's intentions to take action, conduct a business transaction, or form a new partnership — was signed by seven health care centers and services in SB County.

Those who signed were: Family Service Agency, Cottage Health Coast Caregiver Resource CenterAlliloop, Children & Family Resource Services, Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization, and the Family Caregiver Support Program at Dignity Health-Marian Regional Medical Center.
