SpaceX announces Falcon 9 launch for Friday afternoon
VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. – SpaceX has selected Friday, Jul. 7 at 12:29 p.m. for a launch of a Falcon 9 carrying 48 Starlink satellites destined for low-Earth orbit.
A backup launch window has been designated for Jul. 8 at 12:06 p.m.
This will be the 12th launch of the Falcon 9 supporting the mission.
Those multiple missions are because the booster will return to Earth after stage separation to land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship awaiting in the Pacific Ocean.
Some of the booster's previous missions include the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, and Iridium OneWeb.
