Victim, suspect in Grover Beach murder-suicide identified

Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide that happened in a Grover Beach neighborhood.

According to Grover Beach Police, officers responded to a call just before 10 p.m. Thursday reporting that a man and woman were found dead at a home in the 1100 Block of St. John Circle in Grover Beach.

Officers on scene determined a 63-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman had each suffered a single gunshot wound. A loaded 9mm handgun was found at the scene, authorities said.

The Grover Beach Police Department and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department determined the woman was killed by the man who then took his own life.

The victim has been identified as Dana Neece and the suspect as Ron Rawlinson. Both were agents with Century 21 Hometown Realty. Century 21 released the following statement:

Today we learned that two agents associated with our company were involved in a murder/suicide. I can confirm that Dana Neece and Ron Rawlinson were both attached to our Pismo Beach office.

Dana Neece was a wonderful and caring person as well as a great Realtor representing our organization. She has been with Century 21 Hometown Realty for three years. Our hearts and our prayers go out to every family member that has been affected by this senseless tragedy.
