SLO City Fire rescues two hikers at Bishop Peak
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – San Luis Obispo City Fire crews rescued two hikers at Bishop Peak via helicopter Thursday.
The department said the two hikers were off the trail with possible injuries. Once SLO City Fire located the hikers, crews had to use a helicopter due to the remote location to safely hoist the pair to a safe location.
The hikers sustained no injury, but were exposed to poison oak according to officials.
SLO City Fire used Thursday's rescue as a reminder and warning to the community to stay on trail and safe while enjoying the outdoors.
