Rocks arrive to shore up damaged section at the Santa Barbara Yacht club parking lot

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - With an action plan to get ahead of the next high tide cycle this weekend, rocks have arrived at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club parking lot where there was damage recently.

Earlier this month, portion of the parking lot went into the ocean, k-rail concrete barriers were swept around and both power and lighting got twisted up on the west end of the property.

If more water gets into the area, it could damage the boat yard or commercial businesses in the harbor.

Heavy equipment is in place to position truck loads of rocks being dumped on to the site.

Safety fencing has gone up to create a work zone.

The public is asked to stay outside of that area.
