Four suspects and a loaded rifle found in morning Carpinteria warrant search

Four suspects are in custody after a morning warrant operation in Carpinteria that required extra deputies and a lengthy search.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s department took the enforcement action at dawn but issues arose that required back up units and a search of a ranch property in the 7400 block of Stanley Park Road.

The suspects arrested were allegedly linked to a hotel vandalism incident months ago, and damage to two patrol cars. One person was arrested for interfering with the search, according to the Sheriff’s department spokesperson Kelly Hoover.

A loaded rifle was also found on the property along with multiple bags of drugs.

Warrant Operation Leads to Multiple Arrests in Carpinteria

Carpinteria – Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies conducted an arrest warrant operation at a residence in the 7400 block of Stanley Road in Carpinteria today, November 30, 2016, which resulted in four arrests. Through the course of an investigation, Sheriff’s deputies learned there were several people living at the residence who had outstanding warrants.
26-year-old Robert King had a misdemeanor warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance. 29-year-old Sean Gendron and 22-year-old Sara Infante were both wanted for several warrants including felony vandalism warrants out of separate cases that occurred on January 29, 2016. In that case, Sheriff’s deputies responded to evict Gendron and Infante from a Carpinteria hotel room. Gendron was arrested for vandalizing his hotel room causing substantial damage. During the course of that incident, Infante was arrested for vandalizing two patrol cars on the scene.
At approximately 7:00 a.m. this morning, Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the Stanley Park address to serve the arrest warrants. When they arrived, they encountered 26-year-old Lillian Murphy at the front door. Murphy delayed deputies by refusing to open the door. Deputies then contacted King after he was called out from the rear of the residence. A protective sweep was conducted throughout the remainder of the residence to ensure no other parties were present. Murphy informed deputies that Gendron and Infante were not present and not inside the residence.
During the protective sweep, deputies located a loaded shotgun, several airsoft type imitation firearms as well as numerous bags of marijuana. It was later discovered that King and Murphy were in possession of a medical recommendation for marijuana as well as were running/operating a marijuana collective out of the residence. While Murphy was showing deputies the documentation inside the makeshift office, deputies located Infante hiding under a desk concealed partially by furniture. Gendron was located hiding in the attic area of the master bedroom.

Murphy was arrested for being an accessory and resisting a public officer. King was arrested for his outstanding warrant and for being an accessory. Gendron was arrested for resisting arrest and four outstanding warrants. Infante was arrested for obstructing or resisting arrest and three outstanding warrants.
