Two charged in connection to Paso Robles liquor store robbery

Two men have been charged in connection to a liquor store robbery that occurred earlier in November at Wayside Liquor in Paso Robles.

The two suspects were already in custody at San Luis Obispo County Jail on unrelated charges when investigators connected the men to the liquor store robbery.

On Saturday, Nov. 12 officers responded to a silent hold up alarm at the liquor store at 703 Creston Road. Two clerks at the store said they were armed at gun point by two men wearing dark clothes and masks.

Investigative efforts by the Paso Robles Police Department, in collaboration with multiple agencies throughout San Luis Obispo county, led detectives to the two suspects.

The suspects have been identified as Isaac Ward Tabarez, 23, of Atascadero and Elmer Rosendo Quiterio, 22, of Paso Robles.

Criminal complaints were filed to the SLO County District Attorney on Wednesday. The two men were formally charged with two counts of robbery with special enhancements and participation in a criminal street gang.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Paso Robles Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-7867.
