Police: Husband Shoots Wife in Oxnard Murder-Suicide

Oxnard police released more information into the discovery of a man and woman in the 5400 block of Barrymore Drive over the weekend. Police are now saying the husband, Saul Lemus, shot his wife, Sinia Lemus, before turning the gun on himself.

The two bodies were discovered by one of the decedent’s children who immediately reached out to a neighbor for assistance, according to police.

Investigators recovered the firearm used in the incident at the scene. There are no outstanding suspects in this case.

Authorities say they could not locate any history of domestic violence in the household.

The discovery of an Oxnard couple Saturday evening inside their home in the 5400 block of Barrymore Drive has yielded more questions than answers.

The Oxnard Police Department says it’s treating this case as a homicide.

At about 4:40 p.m., officers responded to the Barrymore Drive home on a report of two victim’s suffering from gunshot wounds. When they arrived, they discovered a man and a woman dead from gunshot wounds.

The couple have been identified by police as 35-year-old Sinia Lemus and 47-year-old Saul Lemus.

Police taped off the street leading up to the home where the grisly scene was discovered.

No suspects have been identified in this case as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
