SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Santa Maria Fairpark officials announced Thursday morning plans for a modified Santa Barbara County Fair this summer.

Due ongoing COVID-19 health restrictions, a traditional fair will not be held.

However, the Fairpark has made alternative plans that includes a line-up of separate activities, including a modified theme park-style carnival, virtual livestock show and auction, as well as an Hispanic dance and bull riding event.

The community events will be themed "Time for Fun in 2021."

On July 1-4 and July 8-11, 2021, the Fairpark will host the Helm and Sons Amusements Greatest Portable Theme Park.

Similar to a traditional theme park, the experience will allow visitors to purchase a one-price entry ticket that allows access to unlimited rides.

Tickets are now on sale at the Fairpark website for $25 through June 30. On July 1, ticket prices rise to $30 for children 10-year-old and under, and $40 for 11-years-old and up.

The Virtual Livestock Show and Auction features market beef, goats, sheep, swine, replacement heifers and industrial arts for FFA, 4-H and independent agriculture students.

The virtual auction is set for July 15-16.

On July 25, Arriba Entertainment will hold a dance inside Minetti Arena featuring Banda el Recodo and Los Destrucores bull riding.
