Suspect arrested for train car vandalism in Ventura
VENTURA, Calif. - A suspected was arrested on Wednesday by Ventura Police after being seen spray painting a boxcar on the railroad tracks.
The incident was observed by Ventura Police Cadets who were monitoring security cameras for the Ventura City Maintenance Yard at about 3:40 p.m.
The cadets notified the Ventura Command Center Supervisor who dispatched officers to the location.
The officers surrounded the area and took one suspect into custody while he attempted to flee the scene. Two other suspects scattered and succeeded in getting away.
Vincent Saucedo, 20, of Ventura was arrested that day for vandalism, misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer and trespassing on railroad property.
During the investigation, the officers found graffiti paraphernalia on Saucedo as well as paint on his hands that matched the graffiti on the boxcar.
No one was injured during the incident.
Saucedo was booked at the Ventura County Jail.
