Christmas drone light show coming to Solvang
SOLVANG, Calif. - A show of lights will be taking to the sky for the first time during the 2019 Julefest in Solvang.
According to Noozhawk, Solvang City Council approved an extra $110,000 to pay for added attractions during their meeting on Monday.
This opened the doors for Southern California's first ever Christmas Drone Show, named Aurora Dronealis, which will be performed in Lot 72 on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.
Aurora Dronealis is one of many customizable shows created by Firefly Drone Show.
During the show, hundreds of autonomous drones will dance in a choreographed display creating classic holiday images.

Firefly said their Christmas show will be visible from five miles in every direction and will last for almost 15 minutes.
Grandstand seating will also be available for those hoping to get a close up view of the performance.
Solvang's Julefest is an annual festival that will run from Nov. 30 through Jan. 3.
Along with the drone show, the festival will include a tree lighting, Santa's Village display and a parade among other holiday festivities.
