Nice relief from the heat
Tuesday we finally got some much needed relief from the heat. Highs dropped several degrees and we enjoyed more cloud cover, but unfortunately air quality was poor due to the smoke in the air from the fires burning throughout California.
The next big weather story is gusty Santa Ana winds developing this evening across Ventura County and will strengthen overnight into Wednesday morning. The winds should decrease late Wednesday afternoon. The combination of gusty winds, very dry air, and dry vegetation will create critical fire danger tonight and Wednesday. A warming trend is expected for inland areas over the weekend, expanding to coastal areas early next week. A wind advisory is in effect for Ventura County through Wednesday afternoon and a Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8PM Wednesday. This warm wind will keep temperatures warm in Ventura County including mid 80s along the coast and 90s inland.
Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties will start off with some cloud cover but by midday a good amount of sunshine is expected and warmer temperatures. Highs will be warmer than today in the 80s.
Don't expect any significant changes as we go throughout the week. Expect mostly sunny skies and temperatures near normal for your weekend. Highs in the 70s to 80s along the coast and 90s inland.
