Nordhoff had talented senior track and field members

OJAI, Calif. - The seniors on the track and field team on Nordhoff High School may have lost most of their season due to the coronavirus pandemic but they formed memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

The Rangers seniors won league titles, competed in the CIF postseason and collected plenty of honors along the way.

Jasmine Ramirez, Carla Rodas and Delylia Hackworth were four-year members of the track and field girls team that won three straight league titles.

Khalifa Darcus transferred from Buena during her junior year and made an immediate impact and Esmerelda Velasquez was a terrific leader.

On the boys team Angelo Sorrentino set the pace and was outstanding in the 400.

Danny Sanchez made a successful transition from sprints to long distance while Korey Stevens was a league hurdle champion in the 110 and 300.

Daniel Cobian was a champion in the pole vault while Chase Gorrell, Julian Soriano, and Xzavier Foresberg were key members as well.
