Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office welcomes 6 new deputies

LOMPOC, Calif. -- The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office swore in six new deputies Wednesday. The deputies recently completed their training at Allan Hancock College.

William Peters lead the graduating class receiving three awards, one of which was class valedictorian. Lizbet Hernandez graduated as most inspiration for the class.

The six deputies will now start patrolling Santa Barbara County during their field training.

15 law enforcement trainees graduated Wednesday, 6 from Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office, 2 from Lompoc Police, 2 from San Luis Obispo Sheriff's Office, 2 independently sponsored students, 1 from Arroyo Grande Police, 1 from Grover Beach Police and 1 from Pismo Beach Police.
