Peabody Stadium Project expected to be finally done by May 30
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara Unified School District expects the $39 million Peabody Stadium Project to be finished by May 30.
Construction crews are placing asphalt paving to support the new synthetic track surface and once the pavement is completed, there is a 28-day cure time before the track surface can be installed.
During that cure time they will be finishing up other items such as putting up donor plaques on the back of the already completed stadium bleachers.
The press box is 99.5% completed according to an email sent to KEYT by the school district.
Groundbreaking was August 2017, and there have been numerous delays for this much-anticipated project.
