Dignity Health donates $30,000 to local food banks during COVID-19 pandemic
SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Dignity Health Central Coast donated funds to Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County food banks during the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday.
The Central Coast Hospital donated nearly $30,000 to the local organization in hopes of providing help to low income individuals, unemployed individuals and those experiencing homelessness.
The $30,000 donation will help the California Association of Food Banks to serve all counties in the state.
Their efforts include distributing emergency boxes statewide and help enroll eligible Californians to the program.
Dignity Health Central Coast Manager of Community Health gave the following statement:
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dignity Health Central Coast is proactively supporting vulnerable community members in need. As our mission to help the less fortunate, it is especially important during this time to provide crucial funding to our community partners.”
Patty Herrera, Manger of Community Health at Dignity Health Central Coast
