Beautiful Thursday forecast ahead, Nov 5th

Pixabay

Gorgeous weather today following yesterday's weak storm system's passing. Look for mostly clear skies for the overnight and in to early Thursday as northerly winds continue to blow. Overnight lows will be on the cool side with most areas in the 50's in wind protected areas. However, where the winds hold from the north, we could see overnight lows staying in the 60's with even a slight chance for a few areas not going below the upper 60's. Highs on Thursday will warm a few degrees as our northerly winds strengthen and turn more northeasterly. Highs will warm in to the 70's and 80's as compressional heating keeps the marine influence away from even the immediate coast.

Looking ahead, the Santa Anas and Santa Lucias will likely stay in play through the rest of the work week. This means our very dry and warm weather isn't expected to do much other than make us want to be outside and enjoying the sunshine. Luckily, the recent rains will help to keep wildfire risks dampened, but not completely off the table. Our long range forecast sees warm weather holding for the early part of next week and then some changes will occur as the onshore flow returns ahead of some rain chances. Cooler temperatures will return by Veteran's Day and even a slight chance for showers in our northern areas. We will need to fin tune the forecast over the next few days, but beyond next week and closer to the following weekend, something more significant could be headed our way. We will keep a close eye on that and update you frequently.
