Garmin Expands its Marathon Series to Ventura Starting in 2027

VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) – The city of Ventura will now be part of the Garmin Marathon Series, adding a fourth location to the national running event.

Known for its fitness technology, Garmin is proudly bringing its Marathon Series to the Central Coast in 2027. Steve Lovell, who does advertising for Garmin, joined your News Channel this morning to preview the upcoming race, and explain how making the decision to come out West was a pretty easy one.

"When we were first doing that research, you know, a lot of online research, and then we had multiple calls with the city of Ventura and Visit Ventura and things just came together," explained Lovell. "And then when we came out here, we just fell in love with the city, we fell in love with the people. And you know, everybody from the government to the local community to even just the citizens of Ventura and the surrounding areas that we've met, everybody has just been so welcoming."

Garmin hosts its Marathon series in three other locations around the country (Toledo, Ohio, Tucson, Arizona, and Durham, North Carolina) and feature Boston Marathon-qualifying marathons and USATF-certified half marathons.

The two-day event in Ventura will be no different. Runners begin and end in downtown Ventura, making their way upwards to enjoy captivating views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and Pacific Ocean. Runners will have the chance to sign up for a full-length marathon, half-marathon, 10K, 5K.

The Garmin Marathon Series will take place in Ventura on August 27th, 2027. Registration is now open at Garmin.com.
