Decade-Hidden Art Collection Resurfaces in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) — A collection of artwork kept out of public view for more than a decade is resurfacing in Santa Barbara.

ArtLabbé is presenting “Hidden Treasures,” an exhibition featuring works preserved in storage for years before being brought back into public view.

The collection includes pieces by regional and international artists including Santa Barbara artist Meredith Brooks Abbott, Douglass Parshall and Mexican artist Jesús “Chucho” Reyes Ferreira.

Abbott, born in California in 1938, has long-time ties to Santa Barbara and began pursuing art at a young age.

The exhibition gives visitors a chance to see works that have largely remained unseen while highlighting artists connected to the region and beyond.

“Hidden Treasures” is now on display at ArtLabbé in Santa Barbara.
