Santa Barbara Airport Named “Best Small Airport” Finalist

PATRICIA MARTELLOTTI I KEYT

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) - Santa Barbara Airport is receiving national attention after a year of record passenger traffic and expanded service.

SBA is one of 20 airports selected as a finalist in USA TODAY’s Best Small Airport category. The recognition places the airport in a reader-voted competition that runs through October 5th.

Nearly 1.5 million passengers traveled through Santa Barbara Airport last year, marking a record for the facility.

The airport has also added and expanded nonstop routes, giving travelers more options while allowing them to begin their trips closer to home.

Passengers say the airport’s smaller size and convenient location make it an appealing alternative to larger regional airports.

Voting for the national honor continues through October 5th.
