Mustang Pride Buzzes At Cal Poly For Victor Glover’s Congressional Space Medal Of Honor

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (KEYT) - President Trump awarded the crew of NASA’s Artemis II the Congressional Space Medal of Honor this morning.

The pilot of the spacecraft that traveled further than anyone ever has is Cal Poly alum Victor Glover.

The campus is buzzing with “Mustang Pride” in the engineering graduate’s recent accomplishment in space, not to mention the Congressional Space Medal of Honor bestowed upon Victor Glover this morning by President Trump.

After a half-hour address to the gathered assembly at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, the president made an historic announcement.

Signing an executive order, Trump mandated the creation and establishment of a US Space Academy.

Immediately after that, the president placed a medal of honor around the neck of each of the four crew members of the Artemis II — Reid Wiseman, Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, and Victor Glover.

Cal Poly president Jeffrey Armstrong says Glover’s legacy is potently recognized by current students and their parents.

With a sense of thrill, Armstrong placed Glover’s name in a growing list of alumni making names for themselves and charging future generations to achieve even greater things.
