Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center asks adopters to make #ShelterValentine posts to earn $10,000
SANTA PAULA, Calif. - The Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center (SPARC) is asking anyone who has adopted from their shelter to post a #ShelterValentine for a chance to help them earn a grant of up to $10,000 from the Petco Foundation.
The #ShelterValentine campaign is running from Feb. 1 to Feb. 14. Adopters can participate by posting a photo or video using #ShelterValentine on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter for a chance to win daily prizes or even a grant award for the organization they adopted from.
“This is a great way for our adopters to help us earn lifesaving funds to continue our no-kill mission in Santa Paula, CA.” said Claira Trujillo, Office Manger at SPARC. “These funds will be used directly to save the lives of homeless and abandoned animals in our care.”
A #ShelterValentine post can be a message of love to an adopted pet, a thank you to shelter staff who work hard to save lives every day, or a note of encouragement to shelter pets looking for loving homes.
To be eligible, adopters must include the hashtag #ShelterValentine and must @mention both @petcofoundation and their adoption organization in their post.
The Petco Foundation will be giving out daily prize packs to posters containing a Petco gift card, an item from Mutts, a BOBS from Skechers item and a Petco Foundation swag item. Each entry from SPARC adopters will also give SPARC the chance to earn a $1,000 daily grant award or the $10,000 Valentine's Day grant award.
SPARC said the week of Valentine's Day, representatives from the Petco Foundation will travel the country visiting animal welfare organizations with a special valentine delivery.
The Foundation will also compile #ShelterValentine messages from across the county to send as a virtual valentine to more than 4,000 animal welfare organizations, thanking them for their lifesaving work.
