Adaptive park moving forward in Santa Barbara thanks to big donation
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A newly proposed adaptive park in Santa Barbara is moving along with the help of a $250,000 donation from the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation.
This $250,000 donation will be towards the $4 million goal.
The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation has raised nearly $1 million in their grassroots efforts so far.
The site is on the eastern end of Dwight Murphy Field on Ninos Drive, just across from the Santa Barbara Zoo.
The overall cost is estimated to be about $4 to $5 million. The finished project will be a universally accessible play area.
The Santa Barbara Parks Department is working with a firm on designs.
