Attempted Sexual Assault Under Investigation at UC Santa Barbara

ISLA VISTA, Calif. (KEYT) – Police at UC Santa Barbara are investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault Sunday, near the campus Lagoon.

On Oct. 19th at approximately 9:00 PM, an unknown male forced the victim to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her.

The victim was able to escape and run to safety.

The victim did not know the suspect. It is currently unknown if the suspect was affiliated with the campus, and is described as an adult male.

A spokesperson from the university told your News Channel that UCPD will be conducting increased high-visibility patrols of the general area as an added safety measure.
