Sgt. Mike McGrew tells his life story in A Higher Call to Duty

After a three-decade career in law enforcement and a personal life filled with loss, Sgt. Mike McGrew decided it was time to tell his story.

He called writer Sara Bush and talked her into writing the book entitled A Higher Call to Duty.

McGrew lost his youngest son to cancer, watched his older one struggle with substance abuse, and had his own battle with alcohol.

The divorced Santa Barbara Police Sgt. appears to have let go and let God.

With the help of his new wife he found his faith and was promoted to oversee his department’s chaplain program.

He found his calling and calls it A Higher Call to Duty.
