SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - For the first time ever an American Ultimate Disc League game will be held in Santa Barbara as the Los Angeles Aviators will battle the Oakland Spiders on Friday night at 7:30pm at San Marcos High School.

The game is extra special for competitor Michael Kiyoi who not only plays for the Aviators but he is also the Instrumental Music Director for San Marcos High School.

Friday's game is a fundraiser for the Royals band.

"We have a full program there with a lot of students and part of the proceeds of this game go to our music program," said Kiyoi.

Those not familiar with the sport may be surprised to see the top-notch athleticism in the AUDL.

"You should see high-flying dives and big throws and lots of talent," said Aviators player Nate Kirchhofer of Santa Barbara.

The snack shack will be open serving pizza, hot dogs and more with all proceeds from concession sales going directly to the SMHS Instrumental Music Program.

Adult tickets are $20 and children are free with the purchase of an adult ticket, otherwise they are $8 for kids under 18 unaccompanied by an adult.

The co-sponsor of this event is Santa Barbara Youth Ultimate.
