Foresters win 9th straight game

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Greg Pace homered as the Santa Barbara Foresters erased an early 3-0 deficit to edge the OC Riptide 4-3 and extend their winning streak to nine games.

The Michigan sophomore Pace hammered a 2-out fastball to left field for a 3-run game-tying home run in the second inning.

It is only the second home run of the season for the Foresters this summer.

UNLV infielder Gianni Horvat followed with a single, a stolen base and then scored on a single by Daniel Patterson of Westmont College.

The 4-run second inning proved to be just enough as pitching and defense dominated the final 7 innings.

The Foresters are now 11-3 on the year and will host Arroyo Seco on Friday 6pm at Pershing Park.
