Salute to Seniors: Cate HS volleyball star Theo Mack signs with Vassar College

CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Theo Mack literally grew up at Cate High School.

His parents were part of the school's faculty so Theo used to hang out in the gym watching as much boys and girls volleyball as he could including practices.

When it was his turn to play for the Rams, Mack took advantage of the opportunity as he became a star player for Cate.

As a junior in 2019 he was named Most Valuable Player in the Tri-Valley League.

He was off to a strong start to his senior season as the team captain had a match-high 33 kills in a sweep over neighbor Carpinteria in which turned out to be the last game of the season for the Rams due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The outside hitter Mack gets to continue his volleyball journey at the next level as he commits to Vassar College in New York.
