UCSB head coach Andrew Checketts talks about Gauchos getting into NCAA Regionals.

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- The Gauchos left themselves no room for error and UCSB was up to the task.

After losing 5 of 7 games against UC Irvine and UCLA in a 9-day span in May, the Gauchos postseason hopes looked bleak according to head coach Andrew Checketts.

But UCSB won 8 straight games to finish the regular season and they received an at-large berth into the NCAA Regionals.

It is the second straight postseason appearance for the Gauchos and their fifth since 2013.

The Gauchos will open against Oklahoma State on Friday as part of the Tucson Regional which includes host Arizona and Grand Canyon University.
