UCSB Baseball erupts for 15 runs to complete sweep of Illinois-Chicago

The Gauchos outscored the Flames 28-3 in a three-game weekend sweep

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara baseball dominated on the mound and at the plate on Sunday.

The Gauchos exploded for 15 runs while sophomore starter Michael McGreevy tossed seven sparkling innings as UCSB beat the University of Illinois-Chicago 15-1 on Sunday.

McGreevy had eight strikeouts, allowing one run (none earned). He got out of a first inning, bases loaded jam with minimal damage and cruised the rest of the way.

Christian Kirtley and Kyle Johnson homered for the Gauchos. Johnson and McClain O'Connor each knocked in three runs.

UCSB (9-2) is back at home Tuesday night against UCLA. First pitch is at 5:30 p.m.
