IRVINE, Calif. - Two days after Max Heidegger's serious ankle injury, UC Santa Barbara men's basketball struggled to find its rhythm against a tough opponent.

The Gauchos (19-10, 8-6) lost 69-58 at Big West regular season champion UC Irvine on Saturday night.

UCSB is now in a three-way tie for second in the conference, but holds the tiebreaker. The Gauchos finish the regular season with two home games before the Big West Tournament.
