| Why are you running for office? | I'm running to build on my decades of experience to tackle the urgent and interconnected issues of today: poverty, housing, homelessness, drought and climate change, mental health, economic development, transportation, healthcare and public safety, while creating innovative solutions for the issues of tomorrow. |
| What makes you qualified for the job? | My entire career has been in public service, serving in the White House, the United States Senate and now in local government. I am (committed) to making our community, our county and our country the best it can be for everyone. For the past five years, I've made an impact during challenging times as a member of the Santa Barbara Unified School District Board. I have worked throughout the county on issues of child hunger, climate change, education, poverty, and supporting women and families. |
| What are your two main priorities if you win? | Economic recovery/poverty and climate change. |
| How will you collaborate with other governments? | As I have done in my career -- by working together and putting my experience in other levels of government to good use. |
