Veteran’s Housing Unit Open in Ventura County Jail

Ventura County, Calif. - Monday was the grand opening to a Jail Veteran’s Housing.

The housing unit is loaded on 800 South Victoria Ave in Ventura.

This facility is through the Ventura Sheriff’s Office and is known as the Veteran’s Housing Units D.E.L.T.A.

D.E.L.T.A stands for Delivering Essentials Lifelong Treatment for American Vets.

This unit is specifically designed to provide housing for inmates that have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The Ventura County’s Sheriff’s Office says that their primary goal is to create an atmosphere that is beneficial for rehabilitation and successful re-entry back into the community.

They believe that providing this space will allow the veterans to have the necessary resources they need for a smooth transition.
