Westlake High School wins third consecutive county-wide academic decathlon, moves on to state-wide competition

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – In the first in-person academic decathlon since the start of the pandemic, Westlake High School placed first overall for the third consecutive year.

Westlake's team will now move on to compete at the state academic decathlon.

Thousand Oaks High School was the runner-up after the multi-week competition with Channel Islands High School rounding out the top three.

The event, hosted by Oxnard High School, featured nine local high school teams competing under this year's theme of "The American Revolution and the New Nation.

The academic decathlon features ten academic events ranging from art to economics.
