One person injured after boat runs aground near Channel Islands

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - A boat ran aground Monday morning near the Channel Islands, prompting the Coast Guard to rescue the people on board.

It happened around 6:00 a.m. Monday near Anacapa Island.

The Ventura Harbor Patrol said the fishing boat hit shallow water and at least one person was injured.

It was not immediately clear how many people were on board the boat.

Ventura Harbor Patrol said the boat left from Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard.
