Oxnard trio arrested for identity theft, drugs, more near Camarillo

CAMARILLO, Calif. - Three residents of Oxnard were arrested Wednesday afternoon for a variety of crimes. Ventura County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on the 4400 block of naval air road in the unincorporated area of Camarillo around 1 p.m.

The driver, Felipe Lazcano, 30, had misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Celina Orta, 26, and Jose Cancino, 27, were passengers in the car, according to the sheriff's office.

During a search of the car, deputies found stolen checks, mail, credit cards, driver's licenses, passports and license plates. A loaded handgun and methamphetamine were also found in the vehicle.

All three were arrested. Lazcano and Cancino are being held on $100,000 bail and are schedule to appear in court on April 23. Orta is currently out of custody. She has a scheduled court appearance set for June 19.
