Social distancing surprise birthday held for 14-year-old
VENTURA, Calif. - Lisa Anderson gave her daughter Lena a surprise fourteenth birthday party to remember. She arranged it with social distancing in mind.
Anderson invited people on Facebook to drive by their Ventura home at 6 p.m. on Friday.
That's when she made sure to have her daughter in the driveway near a happy birthday banner on the garage door.
The Villanova student turned 14 with a drive-by birthday party.
Lena had been feeling down due to the stay-at-home order that prevented her from having a traditional party, but she was all smiles as friends, neighbors and even police officers drove by to say happy birthday.
Some of them dropped off gifts, too.
