Port Hueneme reopens beach, but not pier
PORT HUENEME, Calif. - The city of Port Hueneme found a way to reopen its beach over the weekend without inviting crowds to gather.
The city closed its street parking near the beach and put cones in every other parking space to prevent too many people from parking in the beach lot.
The pier and playground structure remain closed, but the Surfside Seafood restaurant is open for business with limited outdoor seating.
Beaches and beach parking controlled by the City of Ventura remain closed. County of Ventura beach parking remains closed, but some county parks are now open.
